One may not agree with the content of this song, but then many did not when it was first released by Woody Guthrie many many years ago. I Was Country When Country Was Cool
Sat, 05/15/2010 - 17:13 — tedmI grew up on outlaw country music in the likes of Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Bobby Bare just to name a few. There were some good hits in the 70's and early to middle 80's. But, after the middle 80's it seems country music took a nose dive for corporate dribble and manufactured redneckism in favor of real country music. That is not to say there is no real country music out there. The alternative country music often found only on satellite radio fits the bill for what country music really should be. Read more »
