If Election For President Were Today Who Would You Vote For:

The Right To Hold To Your Guns

Gun rights can be a thorny issue just as much as gun control itself. No one seems to know what a good middle ground is and extremes smoother both sides of the debate at times. Sadly the say, the Second Amendment is what it is and says what it says --that individual Americans have a right to own firearms and also have a right to form militias (one part of this amendment few talk about in the fervor over guns themselves).

Most gun owners are honest law abiding and maybe god fearing people. These people are not out there to kill and maim people or rob your local store. As many gun rights advocates note --criminals are not the ones who are going to be affected by gun control laws. Criminals will do what they do regardless of the law so the burden of these gun control measures is invariably on the honest gun owners who wish to collect, use and protect themselves with guns.

Meanwhile, gun control advocates seem lost in the idea that somehow their stringent regulations of firearms is somehow going to reduce gun violence and deter criminals when the fact is -these measures do not. Washington D.C. formally the gun control capital is a case in point. None of the laws regulating guns in D.C. have done anything to curtail the criminal gun violence there. In fact, what it has done is deny citizens' an opportunity to defend themselves against such violence should it encumber upon their lives. Worst yet it has criminalize otherwise decent people who might choose to defy the controls. This is plainly stupid if not purely ridiculous.
